Sakura Permapaque Opaque Pigment Marker in Green

Sakura Permapaque Fine Point Marker has a name that really puzzles me. It's not fine (looks like normal marker width to me), opaque or paint-like. The pen has a marker point that's fairly firm and just wet enough, it's shaped like a bell version of the cylinder, which means that when used sideway,  (thanks to the curve) contact area with the paper isn't that much broader than the 1mm tip (being squished).
For a disposable marker pen, the Permapaque is barrel is nice, solid and weighty (for a marker) and the plastic on the cap and grip are both hard and resistant to scratches.  I like the rib on the cap that makes it easier to take off/put on.
The pen itself is kind of like generic marker (haven't used enough of them to see a difference) and the smooth tip leaves a semi-opaque (it looks 75% opaque in the picture but the actual stroke is see-through enough to be used as a highlighter) and consistent line. The color green is more of an emerald green than neutral one.  The pen is alright and there seems to be an interesting selection of colors, I just didn't like how fast the tip wears out: After several pages of doodling, the tip was already losing the stiffness and became less precise.

Overall: It's a bummer that the outside fares much better than the cord. At least I found it at Micheal's clearance bin for 30 cents (normal retail price is $2.39) so it wasn't a waste of money.

  1. I went through a set of 10 of these a while back, and they mostly disappointed me. As you said, definitely not opaque and not particularly fine. I also remember that there was a considerable amount of variation among the markers as to how soft the tip was. The green one I think was particularly soft, while some of the others were firmer. It's not a marker I'd buy again.

    1. Oh, yeah (mine is actually really elementary compared to other fan doodles)...Like one of the (0.78 million!?) Chinese girls, I have hopped right unto the Furukawa Yuki bandwagon(only to get sick of his constant selfie-posting a month later). The drama was really cute though, at least up to the fifth episode...

Anyway, it's fun watching how loved he is (beside sending him food, custom-made mahjong and clothes. His fans even sent him Ayase Haruka's swimsuit albums (you know it's true love when...), because he mentioned in an ancient interview.

  3. Really? I never really got why いたずらなキス is so great. I mean, some "genius" jerk is really mean/cold to a girl who pines for him, and everyone idolizes him? HUH?!?

    btw, do you study Japanese?

    1. I don't study Japanese (I was just force-fed some when I was a kid, now I am picking something from being a couch potato and Johnny's fan girl).

The manga was alright (don't like the drawing style that much) but the 2013 was kind of cute because they made Irie more socially awkward (than a jerk) who is caring in the inside (then some reason he turns pocker-face later on).

Furukawa Yuki got a huge following because people thought he is Irie Naoki in real life (being a Keio grad, having spent 11 years in North America, does break dancing and yada yada...Oh, I do think he has a very pleasant speaking voice)It made me giggle a lot then I just lost interest...
